Every September the calendar does something no single brand can: it pulls the houses into one city, one week, one set of streets, and lets them be measured against each other.
Paris Fashion Week SS27 (September 28–October 6) has set a schedule of 68 shows and 33 presentations. October 1 is a pivot point: Kai Nesselrath debuts as Carven's new creative director, a day after Drew Henry opened at Courrèges — part of a season defined less by the clothes than by new hands arriving at old houses.

A runway before the show: the week is a sequence of first impressions.
Fashion week is the purest form of what bcd-W watches — brands meeting brands in physical space. A creative-director debut is itself a meeting: a person and a house deciding, in public, what the house will now mean. When several land in the same week, the city becomes the room where those decisions are shown, compared and bought.

Paris Fashion Week SS27 at a glance — and the week's creative-director debuts.
The churn of creative directors across Paris houses this season turns the week into a referendum on authorship — who gets to define a heritage name next. For a city, hosting that referendum is its own kind of brand power: Paris is not so much showing clothes as hosting the industry's decisions about itself.
bcd-W angle — the Connect arena in its most literal form: brands physically gathered in one city, one week, where the proposition “brands meeting brands” is simply true.
