As one of London Design Festival's landmark projects, Studio Saar and Atelier One raised a bamboo gridshell clad in Indian police riot shields and farmers' rain shields — on the Strand, across from the High Commission of India. A small architecture studio, rural craft from northeast India, and a London civic corner meet in one place.
One studio, rural craft, and a diplomatic address on the same corner — a brand meeting a city as cultural exchange.
