At London Design Festival (from Sept 13), Swiss modular-furniture brand USM converts its Marylebone showroom into a working record shop with a coffee bar and DJ sets — co-directed with US audio-furniture maker Symbol Audio and Britain's The Vinyl Factory, debuting USM's new sound solutions. Three brands of different character meet in one room, and a furniture brand welcomes guests instead of selling shelves.

Take away "USM × Symbol × Vinyl Factory" and it's just a showroom — the meeting of the three brands became the space itself.
